Tumbling Down The Rabbit Hole

by Karnatos on October 2, 2009

Do You Want to Read My Resume...Ooof - it’s been a while since I got to writing. While I am sorry about that, I’m discovering that job hunting is exhausting along with energy draining.

What makes it worse is that I spend my time looking for work on the same PC I write posts on, and writing AGR posts and cover letters were starting to blur… it was getting disturbing.

I was starting to fear that I might send out a job application and start talking about Felicia Day in it, or link to a cool, yet slightly inappropriate, video - I have to be careful that the lines never blur so that I don’t find myself working at… wait a minute, perhaps that is exactly what I need to be doing! Adding the cool things I come across online to my cover letters, this would guarantee me to find work - right?

If only it were that easy.

Ah well, the job hunt goes on and Karnatos finds himself tired. All is well though! On the plus side, since it has been a while there are a good number of things to check out this week - enjoy!

  • Lego Mini-Fig Cake Mould
  • Star Wars: A New Hope Lego Chess
  • Official Photo of Charisma Carpenter on Legend of the Seeker
  • They Might Be Giants: Meet the Elements
  • Do You Want To Date My Avatar (Second Life Adaptation)
  • Star Wars: Luke Skywalker by ~Mystic-Oracle
  • Fear of the Living Dead - Trailer One

mold? mould?

Lego Mini-Fig Cake Mould

Now, my birthday has come and gone, but dang if I would not love me one of these… I love cake, I love Lego - and this is a freakin’ minifig!

It’s too bad that they don’t have the back-side of the minifig… or a poseable cake pan, then you could do some cool stuff! I can see it now, an Indiana Jones minifig cake - how cool would that be??

Check this out, Mate!

Star Wars: A New Hope Lego Chess

This is a couple of weeks old now, but it is pretty damned cool - it’s a chess set made completely from Lego… but wait, there’s more! The whole frikka-frakkin’ thing is done to a Star Wars theme!

There’s a good deal of photos of this chess board, and most of them are very high resolution - definitely worth checking out!

Charisma Carpenter as Triana

Official Photo of Charisma Carpenter on Legend of the Seeker

I’ve mentioned Legend of the Seeker before… sadly I fell behind in my watching for this series and never finished the first season. I really should check to see if Season One is available through our local cable company’s On Demand list of shows to watch.

ANYways… despite the fact that I have not finished the first season, I am excited to see the series is now working on its second! Far too few good fantasy shows don’t get the axe before they have a chance to become great shows… and to see Legend of the Seeker on its second is great.

ANYways… I was very excited to hear that Charisma Carpenter (Cordelia Chase on Buffy/Angel, and Kendall Casablancas on Veronica Mars) has a role in the upcoming Season Premiere of Legend of the Seeker! Looks like this episode is called “Marked” and she will be playing as Triana, a Mord-Sith warrior… and she’ll likely be causing some trouble.

Sounds great to me, I’m going to have to catch up for this season opener on November 7th!

Meet the Elements

They Might Be Giants: Meet the Elements

One of my all-time favorite bands has a new tune making its rounds around the internet; They Might Be Giants new tune Meet the Elements is classic TMBG. I’ve been listening to these guys for one heckuvalongtime now, and they never grow old or sound dated… they’re just that good.

If you like the tune, check out their merch page, they have a bunch of options for purchasing it, and the remainder of the album Here Comes Science.

Would you date her?

Do You Want To Date My Avatar (Second Life Adaptation)

I’m not a big fan of Second Life, but here’s a pretty cool video paying homage to The Guild’s music video “Do You Want to Date My Avatar” - if nothing else it’s got a catchy tune behind it.

In all seriousness though, it must have taken quite a bit of work to get this put together, so props to The Guild fans out there in Second Life, and other games, for putting these homage videos together… the song never grows old.

He's just a farm boy!

Star Wars: Luke Skywalker by ~Mystic-Oracle

Yeap - more Star Wars! This is a very cool piece of art from Mystic Oracle. Check out the full image, it’s pretty freakin’ sweet.

It boggles the mind sometimes at how much fan art there is out there that barely gets any screen time… because artwork like this simply needs to be seen. I love it!

Is she a lumberjack? No, I say! No she ain't no lumberjack!

Fear of the Living Dead - Trailer One

Hoooo! Do you remember waay back when I said I was going to be a zombie in a zombie movie?

Well, my gut feeling is I’ll have all of 1.3 seconds of screen time, but who cares! According to the credits I will be known as one of the “Headshot Zombies”!

WooT! Zombie #10 now has an official name - Headshot Zombie!

The movie is called Fear of the Living Dead; it’s an indie short with zombies, guns, axes, and blood. Yay!

So check out the trailer for now, it’s pretty cool… and I’ll have more on it when it is finally released.

Wow, I am so psyched that Legend of the Seeker is getting a second season. Streamed all of the first season over Netflix a few weekends ago. Save for the largely nonsensical last episode (no spoilers here), I really dug it.

@Yeebo - that is very to hear Yeebo, I am going to try and find the episodes and watch them before the next season starts up.

People keep telling me that it started great, slowed down, and then ramped up again into the realm of great again - I think I just grew disinterested during the slump.

I’ll have to train myself to not be so impatient I guess :)

Hey Headshot Zombie, I’m Couch Zombie! Better than Couch Potato I suppose. :)

WOW! That trailer for the zombie flick was great! Any chance of a spin off for Headshot Zombie? I’m thinking something along the line of bucket list but instead of two old guys it could be just the zombie and his head in a bucket….

Hmmm… sounds like a winner, JerkPants - hell, we should team up and make a whole slew of movie shorts based on real movies and television series, only with zombies… it’d be a freakin’ blast!
