Caprica: Pilot Episode

by Karnatos on September 22, 2009

BeefaroniOn my first day of actual unemployment, I decided to check out the job scene and get a good feel for what is out there in this fine Canadian city - but once I was pleased with my day’s job-hunting endeavors I pulled myself away from the computer, put away my note pad, and headed downstairs for a mid-afternoon lunch.

I made myself some damn-fine Beefaroni (I love you Chef Boyardee!!), turned on the television and parked myself on the sofa to finally watch me some Caprica.

The first thing I noticed about this DVD release is that it started playing TV spots right away, which kind of surprised me a little. I am not sure why I was surprised, it’s not like I don’t have a ton of movies that start the same way, but it did surprise me a little to be watching commercials. I am currently watching the Veronica Mars television series (I can’t believe I did not watch this show when it was on television - fantastic stuff, but that’s for another post on a different day) and it does not start right into commercials, if I am not mistaken… perhaps I am just quick with the menu button on my remote when watching VM, and with me spoon in-hand shoveling down Beefaroni I might have just been slow enough to notice the commercials… but I don’t think so.

No big though, I skipped the commercials and went right for the main feature; Caprica.

What can I say… this is no Battlestar Galactica.
