Greetings all of you AGR readers! I come to you today with a very special proposition. If you have been on the Internet, and you like to play games, then hopefully you have heard of Extra Life. If you haven’t, Extra Life was started last year by the people behind sarcasticgamer.com. In essence, it is a marathon gaming event to help fight pediatric cancer. The players seek sponsors (and themselves) to donate money that goes to cancer research. Well… here, the official explanation:
Extra Life is a 24-hour charity gaming marathon that aims to raise money to fight pediatric cancer. Extra Life is working in partnership with Texas Children’s Hospital and all funds are earmarked for the Texas Children’s Cancer Center.
It’s really easy to help out. All you have to do is sign up at the Texas Children’s Hospital donation site for Extra Life. The site makes it easy to send out requests for donations to people you know. Those people donate and you get credit for obtaining the donation. On October 17th at 8am (in your local timezone) you just play games for 24 hours. It’s that simple.
You can check the site FAQ for answers to common questions about Extra Life. However, if you still have more questions or comments, head on over to ouractive forum community and you’re certain to find the support you need.
This year we’re looking forward to building on last year’s tremendous success, with your help.
So what does this all have to do with AGR? I’ll tell you…
