Happy Birthday: Always Go Right

by Karnatos on July 27, 2009

Bah-bah-bah-bah-bah-bah-bahhhhhh!One year ago today we officially launched Always Go Right. We were not exactly sure as to how the site would grow and what exactly it’d become, but we had a handful of simple mission statements - to have fun, write about what interests us, and have the site revolve around the geekier side of our lives.

Being geeky people, it has not been too difficult. Our goal was to try and get back in touch with the geeky things we used to do; as grown-ups, our lives are just so busy that finding the time to get back into our geeky hobbies is really tough. For the most part, I’ve had some level of success, but I have to admit that I’ve got a ways to go before I am partaking in the geeky things I used to do in my youth.

We wanted Always Go Right to be a place where we talk about the new things we get introduced to, the geeky things that we like, and the crazy world of geekdom online. We’re not just talking about the pocket-protector geeky stuff either, but it’s in there too - everything from movies, to games, comics, podcasts, art, webseries, toys, television, and role playing games, we’ve managed to cover a lot of territory in one single year.

We kicked things off last year with a Salute to Gary Gygax. His birthday happens to be July 27th, so it was perfect when we realized that his birthday coincided with the week we wanted to go live here at AGR. Ever since we opened the doors things have been blasting along fantastically.

So, one year’s gone by, and we’re gearing of for year 2. I am setting a few goals for myself, and for the site, over the next year; it will be interesting to see what happens!

In closing, I want to thank all that drop by daily and read the site. We know you are out there, and we hope that in the coming year the community of us geeky folk builds up and we share our experiences - just because we’re busy with our daily lives doesn’t mean we can’t find the time to have some fun!
