Have you ever made a 2nd purchase based on the success of a previous one? Have you ever had the experience where the 2nd purchase was a total letdown?

Yeah, that’s exactly what happened to me last week - we were headed out for a camping vacation, and I decided to purchase another bargain bin game for my Nintendo DS. I go to bed earlier than the rest of the family, and I thought it might be nice to bask in the glow of a fire and get some gaming done on the DS at the same time.

I decided on Arkanoid DS. I based the purchase decision on two things:

1. The rebooted Space Invaders Extreme game on the DS was total steak sauce; I still love it as much today as I did when I picked the title up last month.
2. The only other decent looking game in the bin was I Love Horses… no kidding. In the discount bin? Did that game ever sell any copies? There was easily a 10:1 ratio of I Love Horses boxes to other game boxes in the bin.

So to say my choices of cheap games were limited is putting it lightly… I picked up Arkanoid DS, and I am unhappy to report that I was very disappointed.
