At some point during this week I seem to have lost a day. Which day? Wednesday, to be exact.
I seriously cannot figure out where the day went. I can remember on the Actual Wednesday thinking “tomorrow is Wednesday”, which I guess would mean that I thought that day was Tuesday… although, come to think of it, I don’t actually remember thinking that day was a Tuesday, or any other specific day. In reality I had those thoughts on the Actual Wednesday, which totally messed with my mind yesterday, the Actual Thursday, because I was certain that it was Wednesday.
Confused? Yeah, me too… but that’s how I felt, so very confused. Thankfully my bud Aggro Me set me straight, but it took him doing a double-check to ensure that he, himself, was not mad. He had to take steps to ensure he was not mistakenly thinking that the Actual Thursday might possibly be the Wednesday that I was certain it was, which is was not.
Thankfully it turns out that Aggro Me was right, and I was out to freakin’ lunch, else this post would have shown up on Saturday, throwing everything off-kilter.
It would have started out with Actual Thursday being assumed as Wednesday, someone would have gone to work an extra day that week only to wake up on Actual Sunday thinking it was Saturday. One thing would have led to another, and I am certain of it - either the Earth would have broken free from its elliptical orbit around the sun and bowled into the moon on a crash course towards Betelgeuse, or Steve Wiebe would be well on his way towards finally besting Billy Mitchell’s Donkey Kong score only to have the game crash during the live broadcast of the event.
Obviously neither event would ever be likely to happen when everything is right about the universe, but one never knows what could happen once you get the bizarro-ball rolling! I am sooo glad Aggro Me straightened that whole mess out!
For this 35th ’sode of Tumbling Down the Rabbit Hole, I have more great stuff!
