Ithink I have a pretty good handle on what good movies are coming out in theaters or on DVD, especially the geeky ones.  But I happened, by chance, to run across two flicks that I’d never even heard of, but sound quite awesome.  So I’d like to mention them in case you haven’t heard of them either.  I haven’t seen these films yet so this definitely is not a review, but I will be seeing them in the near future.  When I do watch them, I’ll update this post or give my thoughts in a comment.

Blast!

This one is definitely the lesser known of the two films.  I have no idea how I even ran across it, but somehow it’s in my favorites.  Perhaps it appeared by magic.  Blast is a documentary, and I always enjoy a good documentary, especially about a geeky subject.  Blast focuses on scientists and sounds really fascinating.  Scientists are awesome - case closed.  What’s more, this isn’t some dry scientific lecture.  It features a lot of action, far-off locales and a look at the personal lives of these scientists and their interplay with each other.
