A Tolkien Bestiary

This is the cover art on the book: take note that the tail is missing from the dragon, new printings have the tail behind the letteringToday’s post is going to be short(ish) - it’s my fault too. I was supposed to be preparing a post for today, but instead I ended up leafing through a used book I picked up for $5.

I picked up an old copy of A Tolkien Bestiary by David Day yesterday. I’ve seen this book before, I could not place where or when exactly, but when I eyeballed it for $5 I snatched it off the cart and handed the nice lady some cash.

The book is a fantastic hard cover, and it’s in pretty decent shape. The cover is a little soiled, and there’s a small tear in at the top of cover along with some worn-markings in the spine-area of the cover… but the book itself feels pretty much new.

Rather pleased with my purchase I curled up in my reading chair, and next thing I knew it was 2am. I was certain that I’d had plans to write about something, but for the life of me I could not remember what.
