I did something last night that I have not done in quite some time. It all happened when I saw someone online asking if it was possible to add 2 or more RSS feeds to their Facebook account… to which someone replied “don’t think so”. I read the answer like a dozen times, and was bewildered at the thought - could the Mighty Facebook truly not allow more than 1 RSS feed?
So my curiosity got the best of me and I logged in. Now, you have to understand, I rarely ever log into Facebook. If I’ve logged in there for more than 2-3 times yearly and spent more than 10 minutes combined by all sessions, then I’ve spent a lot of time on Facebook. It just never caught on for me.
So tonight I logged in - tried to figure out how the heck to even configure the RSS feed thang, and then discovered that it appears to be true, from what I gathered - 1 RSS feed only. You can add other feeds, like your Digg feed, Flickr, etc. - but I could not figure out how to add my tumblog and AGR’s RSS to my Facebook profile-thingy.
Then I blasted through my friend requests, OKayed a half-dozen, and then started getting blasted with hellos. I have to say, since I last spent any time there, Facebook has changed. It no longer feels like it’s built in the 1990s. I still doubt I’ll be spending much time there, but I was pleased to see it was at least feeling more modern.
So anyways, I hooked up my YouTube, Flickr, and AGR feeds (no Twitter or FriendFeed?) and chatted a bit with some people that noticed I was actually there more than 1 minute (I think I heard multiple jaws hit the floor)… but anyways.
Before I checked out Facebook this week, I managed to find a slew of great finds. It was a pretty busy week on the internet, lots of fun stuff going on. Here’s what grabbed my attention and made its way onto my tumblog:
- Disturbing Painting: Dinner Bell Bears
- Penny “Keep Your Head Up”
- Project Natal : Felicia Day
- I Have You Now
- How Lily met Willow
- Star Wars “Prototype” Stormtrooper Helmets
- USB Microwave
