When I was in the local second-hand video game store in town this weekend I saw a brightly colored Nintendo DS game called Big Bang Mini. From the box it looked very bright and wacky, and the box read “Everybody Loves Fireworks” - wooo, sooo true!
So, bright colors and a truthful slogan won me over; I was now ready to trade my hard-earned cash for this used game.
The guy at the counter looked at me kinda funny though; what’s the deal there? I mean, look - I am ready to shell out some coin here and you give me a weird look as I hand the game over the counter to pay for it? I also get a raised eyebrow and a bit of a smirk? Pfft… listen bub, now I am starting to get irked… wait wait, he’s talking? Uuuh, did he just say “I loved this game, I’m surprised it sat there for a while”?
Well, I shoved the game into my jacket pocket and said a polite “thank you”. As I left the store he tossed out an “enjoy the game” and resumed reading his Blackberry. I was starting to wonder how sincere his “love” for the game was as I glanced back through the storefront’s windows… what the heck did I just buy?
