If you look around the dark nether regions of the internet, you might come across the unaired pilot episode of Buffy the Vampire Slayer. While it does share many similarities to the actual first episode of Buffy, it is still quite different - but I’ll leave the differences for you at home to figure out.

The best part of this unaired pilot is that you get to see a very young Darla at work, and it’s pretty slick considering it was never aired. The bad Buffy-logo they used in the short 30 minute episode is funny to see, and Principal Flutie really looks different. But you really need to tune in long enough to check out the likes of Willow!

I really love the fact that Willow was a totally different person in this unaired pilot - I think the character would have turned out quite differently with the actress featured in this pilot. Who knows though, I have no idea how far past the first season Joss was thinking when he chose the final cast for Buffy the Vampire Slayer.
