Revenge of Lux Touch

A few people emailed me with questions regarding the Lux Touch post I did last week so I wanted to provide some additional information.

First of all, I kind of glossed over the intricacies of the card rules.  Since the iPhone version does not make it easy to figure out what is going on with the cards, I wanted to clarify.  Rather than trying to explain them, I’ll just link you to an excellent summary of the cards in Lux Touch posted on the MacRumors Forums by a poster named Motley.  The post you are looking for in that thread is number 12 (October 14 at 10:12 A.M.) which explains all of the card rules in the game.

Secondly, I wanted to touch on the strategy employed in Lux Touch.  My very basic strategy tip is to not try to do everything at once.  Take your time and wait for additional troops to build up a strong force, rather than stretching yourself too thin.  You really don’t want to waste your army on failed attacks, especially early on in the game.  But, by the same token, you don’t want to be completely passive.  Each turn is an opportunity to gain a card and that can make a huge difference.  So I do try to get one victory each turn, even if I don’t intend on actually holding the area I conquer.  It doesn’t have to be a major victory - it can be a victory of 4 troops over 1 in an area of little strategic importance.  And don’t force it.  It’s not the end of the world if you don’t get a card on every single turn.
