You may have seen this video floating around already, but we’re bringing it to you anyway. Say hello to Image Metrics.
Now that you’ve watched it, go check out this article over at Technabob, and excuse me while I go restart my computer, since it just imploded on itself due to awesomeness.
I was away from the computer and internet for the entirety of last week - I did not plan it that way, but that’s what ended up happening. My family was in town visiting, and my father and I had planned to work together and build a new deck. To my surprise I was still able to geek out a little with my father, even though we were doing something completely outside of my realm of expertise.
Surprisingly, I’ve never had the chance to actually build a deck with my father before. He’s a retired architectural engineer, has a love for things made of wood, and he loves to make things - as an end-product he’s built many decks over the years.
In my folk’s backyard you will find what I thought of as a simple deck. I never thought much about it growing up, but anyone that ever sees their deck are amazed at how nice it is. It really is a nice deck. After building one with him in my own backyard last week I’ve grown a deeper respect for the guy I call Dad, he’s got this deck-building thing down to a science.
