I came across the new web service Privnote over at Digg. Basically, you just go to the page, type a note and hit the “Post It” button. The website then provides you with a link. The interesting thing is that once that link is clicked you are able to read the note, but it is then “destroyed.” Clicking the same link will no longer give you access to the note. So, you can send someone a link to the note and when they read it, it is toast. (You can also self-destruct the note by clicking the link yourself).
Now, the business side of me thinks this is kind of silly. No one is going to trust this site with super sensitive information. And nothing can stop the person you send the note to from taking a screenshot or copy-pasting it and then reproducing your “destroyed” note ad infinitum.
But hey, then there’s the gamer side of me.
